Affiliate Disclosure
HostRanker is funded by affiliate commissions. When you click certain links on our site and sign up with a hosting provider, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We want to be completely open about how this works.
How affiliate links work
Some of the links to hosting providers on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy a plan, the provider pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be if you went to the provider directly — you are never charged more for using our link, and in some cases our links carry a discount.
This commission is how we keep the site running and fund the cost of buying hosting accounts to test. We are grateful when you use our links, but you are under no obligation to do so.
How commissions affect our reviews
They do not. We decide what to recommend based on our testing, and only then do we add affiliate links where they are available. Plenty of the hosts we rate well pay us nothing, and we have criticised hosts who do pay us. A commission never buys a better score, a higher ranking, or a softer verdict.
If we ever cannot test a product properly, or our view is based on something other than hands-on use, we will tell you in the review itself. Our credibility is the only thing that keeps this site worth reading, and we are not willing to trade it for a commission.
